Derby City Mission has been working hard for the last 18 months in the city, county and beyond, looking to extend the impact the church can have on a community, especially  for the community of rough sleepers.

The 1st December 2018 was a momentous day.  As well as opening the doors for the 6th year to Derby Churches Nightshelter, we opened the doors to Mansfield Nightshelter for the 2nd year and for the 1st time to Chesterfield Churches Nightshelter - Phil Morton: Head of Relief of Poverty

Always in partnership with local churches and agencies, we can now provide the opportunity for up to 62 rough sleepers to receive a good meal, a bed for the night and feel the love and care of hundreds of volunteers (over 500 this winter!).

Most importantly, we can encourage the gospel in such a practical way, this is exactly what God created us for!  Being Jesus to some of the most vulnerable people in our society.  Where else would Jesus be?

We are also excited to have been part of the journey as other shelters have opened this winter in Burton, Ilkeston and Northampton.

So today, when it's time to snuggle down under an extra thick duvet, please pray for our volunteers, our staff and our guests, that they would be safe, warm and know there is hope through Jesus.
