Danny and his wife along with Elle Warrener and Sir Richard FitzHerbert at the ceremony / Tissington Hall

We are delighted to share that Danny Foden, head of our SHAP (Somewhere to go, Help and Advice, and Pathways) team, has been awarded the High Sheriff Award 2025/26 for his contribution to life in Derbyshire and his work with the community served by Derby City Mission.

The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by the High Sheriff of Derbyshire. Danny was joined at the event by Elle Warrener, Managing Director of Derby City Mission, and the group were later invited to afternoon tea at Tissington Hall with Sir Richard FitzHerbert, last year’s High Sheriff, and fellow award recipients.

Danny told us he had no idea he had been nominated, making the recognition all the more special.

“I felt very privileged and humbled to receive an award for the work WE ALL do at DCM.”

— Danny Foden, SHAP Team Lead

That generosity of spirit is exactly what makes Danny such a valued part of the DCM family. While the award is a personal recognition of his leadership and dedication, Danny was quick to point out that the work of the SHAP team — and of everyone across DCM — is very much a collective effort.

Congratulations, Danny. We couldn’t be prouder. 💙
